The problem

One language gap can cost you the whole conversation.

More and more of the people calling Italian businesses are international customers: tourists, guests, people who have just landed.

But having someone who speaks confident English on every shift, at every hour, is not realistic for most small businesses.

When the phone rings, the customer should still be understood.

Today

  1. English-speaking caller“Hi, do you have a room for this Friday?”
  2. Employee unsure or unavailable“Sorry… one moment, please…”
  3. Missed enquiryThe caller hangs up and books somewhere else.

With Parla Inglese

  1. English-speaking caller“Hi, do you have a room for this Friday?”
  2. Natural conversation in EnglishQuestions answered and details collected, within your rules.
  3. Italian outcome for your staff“Richiesta camera doppia per venerdì. Richiamare il cliente.”

Your business speaks Italian. Your customers don’t have to.

How it works

    03. Customers speak English

Callers talk naturally, the way they would to a person. No rigid menus, no “press 1 for English”.

  4. Riepilogo

Capabilities

What Parla Inglese is being built to do.

Planned capabilities for the first version. Focused on routine customer calls, done properly.

  1. Natural English conversations

Callers speak freely, interrupt and rephrase. No scripts, no keypad menus.

  2. Business-specific knowledge

Answers from the information and instructions each business provides, not from guesses.

  3. Intent understanding

Recognises whether the caller is asking a question, making a request, leaving a message or needs a person.

  4. Structured information capture

Names, phone numbers, dates, times, party sizes and requests, collected and read back.

  5. Italian staff summaries

Every call becomes a short outcome your team can read in seconds.

  6. Human handoff

When a request needs a person, it tells the caller and passes it to your staff.

  7. Context-aware conversations

Keeps track of what was said earlier in the call, instead of acting like a rigid phone menu.

Technology

Claude at the reasoning layer.

Parla Inglese is being designed around the Claude API as the reasoning layer behind each customer interaction.

After speech is transcribed, Claude interprets intent, reasons over the business’s knowledge and instructions, determines what information is still needed, and helps create the structured Italian handoff for staff.

Translation is the easy part. The hard part is judgement: what does this caller need, what does this business allow, what is still missing, and when should a person step in? That is the work we are giving to Claude.

What Claude is responsible for

  • Interpreting the caller’s intent
  • Reasoning over the business’s information
  • Following business-specific instructions and policies
  • Deciding when more information is needed
  • Deciding when a request should go to a person
  • Keeping context across a natural conversation
  • Turning the call into structured information
  • Writing concise Italian summaries for staff

Control & trust

AI where it helps. Humans where they matter.

An assistant that answers on behalf of your business has to behave like part of it. These principles are part of the design from day one.

How a call is designed to open
AI assistant

“Hi, thanks for calling. I’m the hotel’s AI assistant. I can help you in English, and I’ll pass anything important on to the team.”

  • Clear AI disclosure

Callers are told they are speaking with an AI assistant. It never pretends to be a person.

  • Your rules

It works from the information and operating instructions your business provides, and stays within them.

  • Human escalation

If a call falls outside its scope or needs a person, the request goes back to your staff.

  • Defined scope

Built for routine business communication. Not for emergencies, and not for legal, medical or financial advice.

Parla Inglese is designed for businesses and their adult customers. It is not intended for use by anyone under 18.

Something else? hello@parlainglese.xyz

An AI voice receptionist for Italian businesses. It answers English-speaking callers in natural English, follows your business’s information and rules, and sends your team the outcome in Italian.

Italian businesses that regularly hear from English-speaking customers: hotels, restaurants, holiday rentals and property managers, tourism businesses and local services.

No. The assistant handles the conversation in English. Your team reads the summary in Italian and takes it from there.

No. A translation app repeats words in another language. Parla Inglese works out what the caller needs, answers using your business information, collects the details and tells your team what to do next.

Yes. Callers are told at the start of the call that they are speaking with an AI assistant. That is a core design principle, not a setting.

It doesn’t guess. It tells the caller that it will pass the question to the team, collects their details, and sends your staff a summary so someone can follow up.

Yes. You provide opening hours, FAQs, policies, services, procedures and instructions, and you can write them in Italian. The assistant uses them to answer and to decide what it can and cannot do.

It is designed to work alongside your existing number, for example by answering calls that would otherwise go unanswered or when no English speaker is free. The exact setup will be defined with each early-access business.

Pricing has not been set yet. We will define it together with early-access businesses, based on how the product is actually used.
